How Your Support Helps

Cover Tuition Fees, Books and School Uniforms
For $50 a month, you can provide the first few steps towards educating a child by enabling the child to have one piece of school uniform, 1 pair of shoes, needed school books and tuition fee for the whole year in a government institution. But any amount helps support that child, your donations, no matter the size are gratefully appreciated.

Nutrition
Children can’t learn on an empty stomach. Most of the children we help are orphans living with guardians who cannot provide them with a balanced diet. You can donate any amount to provide food and help the children concentrate on their studies without being distracted by hunger.

Medical Expenses
Our medical program funds the treatment of any child in the project who needs medical assistance. Any amount donated is appreciated.

Infrastructure
In 2025 new latrines were built for one of the primary schools we support. They had 3 latrines that served over 550 students.
Inzeku contributed to the building of an additional 3 seats for the female students and now the male students use the old latrine.

I recently had the opportunity and privilege to meet the Inzeku Foundation’s students in Irchelo, Kenya. My husband and I were accompanied by Edwin, the founder of the Inzeku Foundation, who took us to each of the different primary and secondary schools attended by the students. The schools are supported by the Kenya government (which provides a standardized curriculum) and also by different NGO’s and religious groups. The school buildings are in impoverished areas and have no running water and little or no electricity. The students all bring their own plastic jug with water for the day, and the schools use pit toilets. Many students do not get lunch, but Inzeku students receive a hot lunch daily.
We met the principals/administrators and teachers of the schools who all thanked us warmly for our support and reported that Inzeku’s involvement in the students’ lives does much to motivate and encourage them. Our students are bright, healthy and high performing, and attend school daily despite being orphaned and living with extended family or friends who do not really have the means to provide for them. We met all the Inzeku students individually in their schools and also visited their classrooms.
But the REAL FUN started when school was over for the day and we hosted a big meal for all the students. They recited speeches and poems for us, showed us local traditional dances for different occasions, and asked us many questions about our lives, homes and families while answering our questions about their lives, interests and goals.
At the end of the day I felt very excited about the difference our little foundation makes in the lives of these children and their communities, and I am committed to continuing to support them. It’s amazing that a contribution of $50/month provides for their school needs, a daily healthy meal, and most importantly, HOPE and ENCOURAGEMENT for now and their future.
