FAQ's

Does my donation really go to the children?

Yes—100%. Our Board of Directors is entirely volunteer-based, made up of individuals who use their unique skills and expertise to help run the foundation without compensation.

How much of the money actually goes to the children?
The vast majority. Since our board and support staff are volunteers, we keep overhead costs very low. We do compensate a local director who handles crucial on-the-ground work, including enrolling children in school, coordinating medical care and meal delivery, managing fuel and transportation, purchasing uniforms, and performing essential administrative duties.

How often do children receive new uniforms?
Uniforms are updated every two years, or as the children grow and need new ones.

Does the government pay for schooling in Kenya?
Unfortunately, no. Families must pay for tuition and all related expenses out-of-pocket.

How much does it cost to send a child to school for a year?
On average, it costs approximately $2,500 USD per child per year. This includes tuition, school supplies, a daily lunch, and basic medical care.

How does Inzeku decide which children get sponsored?
We typically sponsor children who have lost one or both parents, often due to illness. We also consider the child’s eagerness to learn and their desire for an education. As our donor base grows, we're proud to be able to expand our reach and support more students each year.

Do you have your non-profit / 501(c)3 designation?

We obtained our EIN in June of 2023.
